Sherpur Taiban is a village of Dharamkot tehsil in Moga district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dharamkot, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dharamkot community development block and is served by the Said Jalalpur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034176, and it covers 462 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 2,481 people in Sherpur Taiban: 1,278 men and 1,203 women, living in 520 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 462 hectares, the population density works out to about 537 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 941 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 323, about 13 per cent of the village.
