Gosainpur is a village in Pathankot tehsil of Pathankot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sujanpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027443, and it covers 112 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,209 people in Gosainpur: 640 men and 569 women, living in 250 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 112 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,079 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 889 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 142, about 12 per cent of the village.
