Where is Nangal Bhor?

Nangal Bhor is a village of Pathankot tehsil in Pathankot district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Pathankot community development block and is served by the Nangal gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027497, and it covers 355 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 3,121 people in Nangal Bhor: 1,624 men and 1,497 women, living in 695 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 355 hectares, the population density works out to about 879 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 922 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 291, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 814 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 87.74 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 90.69 per cent and women at 84.59 per cent.
