Where is Paharipur?

Paharipur is a village in Pathankot tehsil of Pathankot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 29 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Narot Jaimal Singh community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027728, and it covers 157 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 485 people in Paharipur: 239 men and 246 women, living in 91 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 157 hectares, the population density works out to about 309 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1029 women for every 1,000 men.
