The village falls in the Sujanpur community development block and is served by the Ranipur Chhota,Ranipu Uprla, Ranipur Ranipur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027411, and it covers 635 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 5,890 people in Ranipur: 3,091 men and 2,799 women, living in 1,145 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 635 hectares, the population density works out to about 928 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 906 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 654, about 11 per cent of the village.
