Kamalpur is a village of Samana tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Samana, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sanaur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036231, and it covers 337 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 915 people in Kamalpur: 460 men and 455 women, living in 158 households, an average of about 5.8 people per household. Children up to the age of six numbered 112, about 12 per cent of the village.
