Majri is a village of Samana tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Samana, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Samana community development block and is served by the Fathemazri gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036212, and it covers 688 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,770 people in Majri: 936 men and 834 women, living in 358 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 688 hectares, the population density works out to about 257 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 891 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 194, about 11 per cent of the village.
