Where is Shankerpur?

Shankerpur is a village of Patiala tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patiala, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Patiala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036493, and it covers 278 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,110 people in Shankerpur: 592 men and 518 women, living in 187 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household.
