The 2011 directory recorded Tarn Taran, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tarn Taran community development block and has its own gram panchayat. The 2011 census counted 380 people in Rakh Sheikh Fatta: 196 men and 184 women, living in 76 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household.
