It lies in the Puadh region, and the 2011 directory recorded Anandpur Sahib, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Anandpur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038416, and it covers 632 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,362 people in Chandpur: 716 men and 646 women, living in 261 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 632 hectares, the population density works out to about 216 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 902 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 143, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 68 people, about 5 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
