Chhotewal is a village of Nangal tehsil in Rupnagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nangal, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Anandpur Sahib community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038555, and it covers 157 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 1,087 people in Chhotewal: 568 men and 519 women, living in 232 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household.
