Where is Thali?

Thali is a village of Rupnagar tehsil in Rupnagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Rupnagar, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Rupnagar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038633, and it covers 123 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,483 people in Thali: 810 men and 673 women, living in 330 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 123 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,206 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 831 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 161, about 11 per cent of the village.
