Ballopur is a village of Dera Bassi tehsil in SAS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dera Bassi, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dera Bassi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039288, and it covers 247 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 1,615 people in Ballopur: 876 men and 739 women, living in 331 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household.
