Where is Manana?

Manana is a village in SAS Nagar tehsil of SAS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Puadh region, and the 2011 directory recorded S.A.S. Nagar, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Majri community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039161, and it covers 110 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 952 people in Manana: 514 men and 438 women, living in 162 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household. Spread over its 110 hectares, the population density works out to about 865 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 852 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 84, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 224 people, about 24 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
