Where is Razapur?

Razapur is a village of Dera Bassi tehsil in SAS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Puadh region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Ambala, about 24 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dera Bassi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039270, and it covers 290 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,091 people in Razapur: 567 men and 524 women, living in 170 households, an average of about 6.4 people per household. Spread over its 290 hectares, the population density works out to about 376 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 924 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 140, about 13 per cent of the village.
