Where is Bazidpur?

Bazidpur is a village in Nawanshahr tehsil of SBS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded S B S Nagar, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Aur community development block and is served by the Bajit Pur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032269, and it covers 467 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,932 people in Bazidpur: 978 men and 954 women, living in 418 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 467 hectares, the population density works out to about 414 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 975 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 162, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 158 people, about 8 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 82.37 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 85.75 per cent and women at 78.95 per cent. The census recorded 613 workers, about 32 per cent of the village.
