It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Balachaur, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Saroya community development block and is served by the Chandiani gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032497, and it covers 369 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,180 people in Chandiani Khurd: 1,097 men and 1,083 women, living in 463 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 369 hectares, the population density works out to about 591 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 987 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 237, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 560 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 76.12 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 88.68 per cent and women at 63.54 per cent. The census recorded 1,099 workers, about 50 per cent of the village.
