Mubarkpur is a village of Nawanshahr tehsil in SBS Nagar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nawansahar, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nawanshahr community development block and is served by the Mubarakpur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032086, and it covers 184 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,747 people in Mubarkpur: 894 men and 853 women, living in 356 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 184 hectares, the population density works out to about 949 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 954 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 186, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,062 people, about 61 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 80.2 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 86.98 per cent and women at 73.25 per cent.
