Where is Farandipur?

Farandipur is a village of Patti tehsil in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 17 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhikhiwind community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038072, and it covers 130 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 740 people in Farandipur: 382 men and 358 women, living in 126 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household. Spread over its 130 hectares, the population density works out to about 569 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 937 women for every 1,000 men.
