Where is Jaur Singhwala?

Jaur Singhwala is a village of Patti tehsil in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Patti, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Patti community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 038201, and it covers 433 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,483 people in Jaur Singhwala: 778 men and 705 women, living in 268 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 433 hectares, the population density works out to about 342 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 906 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 196, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 400 people, about 27 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
