Punjab-Origin Angad Singh Dhillon Named Canada's Ambassador to UAE

Punjab-origin civil servant Angad Singh Dhillon has been named Canada's next Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
The appointment was announced on September 25 by Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand as part of a round of diplomatic postings.
Dhillon, who has served in Canada's public service, will take up the Abu Dhabi posting at a time of growing Canada-UAE trade and strong people-to-people links with the Punjabi diaspora. Community groups in Canada welcomed the choice, noting his Punjab roots.
