Union Home Minister Amit Shah told a rally in Jalandhar on September 30 that the BJP will fight the next Punjab election on one promise: a drug-free state.
Shah was speaking at the end of the party's 13-day 'Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra', which passed through all 117 assembly segments. He said that if the BJP forms the government, the trade in chitta, the synthetic drug that has ravaged Punjab's youth, would be finished before December 31, 2029.
He compared enforcement numbers, saying central agencies seized about 26 lakh kg of narcotics during the UPA years against 1.20 crore kg between 2014 and 2024. He also attacked the AAP government led by Bhagwant Mann, accusing it of failing on jobs, mohalla clinics, MSP and anti-drug coordination under PIT-NDPS and NCORD.

ਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ 13 ਦਿਨਾਂ 'ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯਾਤਰਾ' ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਨ 'ਤੇ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ 117 ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਦਾ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, 31 ਦਸੰਬਰ, 2029 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਯੂਪੀਏ ਦੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲਗਭਗ 26 ਲੱਖ ਕਿਲੋ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤੇ, ਜਦਕਿ 2014 ਤੋਂ 2024 ਦਰਮਿਆਨ 1.20 ਕਰੋੜ ਕਿਲੋ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ 'ਆਪ' ਸਰਕਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਹਮਲਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ, ਮੁਹੱਲਾ ਕਲੀਨਿਕਾਂ, ਐੱਮਐੱਸਪੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਟ-ਐੱਨਡੀਪੀਐੱਸ ਤੇ ਐੱਨਕੋਰਡ ਤਹਿਤ ਨਸ਼ਾ-ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਕਾਮੀ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ।
