Four private schools in Mohali received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning, October 7, and sent students home as police, bomb-disposal teams and sniffer dogs searched the campuses. The schools named in reports are Paragon School in Sector 71, Shivalik Public School in Phase 6, Vivek High School and Gian Jyoti School in Phase 2.

Reports said school managements informed police as soon as the emails were opened and closed the campuses as a precaution. The Jalandhar Times reported that no suspicious object or explosive had been found in the searches and no arrest had been announced at the time of publication.
