Shots Fired at Ammy Virk's Convoy in Abbotsford, Canada; Singer Denies Being Targeted

Panic spread after 7 to 10 shots were fired at a vehicle in Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk's convoy in Abbotsford, British Columbia, late on September 5 after his show at the Rogers Forum.

Virk later said he was safe, and his father told media in India that the singer was not the intended target. Canadian police have not announced arrests.

The incident has raised fresh concern about the safety of Punjabi artists touring Canada, where Virk has a large fan base. Virk, who is from Punjab's Patiala region, continued his tour schedule after the incident.
