The village falls in the Sirhind community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032784, and it covers 496 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 759 people in Rajinder Nagar: 406 men and 353 women, living in 130 households, an average of about 5.8 people per household. Spread over its 496 hectares, the population density works out to about 153 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 869 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 93, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 431 people, about 57 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
