Guggu Gill, born Kulwinder Singh Gill on 14 January 1960 in Mahni Khera village near Malout in Sri Muktsar Sahib district, is a Punjabi film actor who became one of the leading action stars of Punjabi cinema in the 1990s. Early life in Mahni Khera

ਗਿੱਲ ਦੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਸਾਂਝਾਂ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਹਿਲੀ ਯੋਗਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। ਦੋਵੇਂ 1990 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਭਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਦੇ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਰਹੇ, ਅਕਸਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੈਰ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ, ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਕਮਾਈਸ਼ੋਅ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਦਲਾ ਜੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਮੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਜੋੜੀ ਉਸ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ੀ ਸਿਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਸ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਰਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਰਹੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਸੀ।

ਬਾਅਦ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ 2000 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਉੱਭਰਿਆ, ਗਿੱਲ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ, ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 2008 ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸਟਰ ਭੁੱਲਰ, 2010 ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਕੁੜੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ, ਅਤੇ 2014 ਦੀ ਹਿੱਟ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਆ ਗਏ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਯੂਕੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਮੀ ਸ਼ੇਰਗਿੱਲ, ਨੀਰੂ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਘੁੱਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਦਿਖੇ। ਸ਼ਰੀਕ, ਦਿਲਦਾਰੀਆਂ, ਲਾਹੌਰੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ, ਅਤੇ 2018 ਦੀ ਬਲਾਕਬਸਟਰ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਐਸਐਚਓ ਗੁਰਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਣੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਦੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।

2013 ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਪੀਟੀਸੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਈਫਟਾਈਮ ਅਚੀਵਮੈਂਟ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਉਦਯੋਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਸ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਰਸਮੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਔਖੇ 1990 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗਿੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਜੋਤ ਗਿੱਲ। ਗੁਰਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗਿੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਰਪੰਚ ਵਜੋਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਜਨਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
