Where is Bashambarpura?

Bashambarpura is a village of Amritsar II tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Amritsar, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jandiala Guru community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037574, and it covers 123 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,078 people in Bashambarpura: 596 men and 482 women, living in 188 households, an average of about 5.7 people per household. Spread over its 123 hectares, the population density works out to about 876 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 809 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 131, about 12 per cent of the village.
