Dialpur is a village of Majitha tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Majitha, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Majitha community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037479, and it covers 150 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,608 people in Dialpur: 1,366 men and 1,242 women, living in 424 households, an average of about 6.2 people per household. Spread over its 150 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,739 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 909 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 470, about 18 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 2,557 people, about 98 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
