Where is Saidopura?

Saidopura is a village of Lopoke tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Raja Sansi, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Harsa Chhina community development block and is served by the Saidupura gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037379, and it covers 408 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 928 people in Saidopura: 468 men and 460 women, living in 143 households, an average of about 6.5 people per household. Spread over its 408 hectares, the population density works out to about 227 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 983 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 94, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 473 people, about 51 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
