Where is Ranewali?

Ranewali is a village of Lopoke tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Raja Sansi, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Harsa Chhina community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037391, and it covers 278 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 992 people in Ranewali: 543 men and 449 women, living in 187 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 278 hectares, the population density works out to about 357 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 827 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 129, about 13 per cent of the village.
