Where is Chak Rohiwala?

Chak Rohiwala is a village of Jalalabad tehsil in Fazilka district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Jalalabad, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalalabad community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034959, and it covers 349 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 606 people in Chak Rohiwala: 302 men and 304 women, living in 110 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 349 hectares, the population density works out to about 174 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1007 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 96, about 16 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 284 people, about 47 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 50.78 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 56.69 per cent and women at 44.92 per cent.
