Jhok Sarkari is a village in Faridkot tehsil of Faridkot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Guru Har Sahai, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Faridkot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035506, and it covers 597 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,185 people in Jhok Sarkari: 629 men and 556 women, living in 240 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 597 hectares, the population density works out to about 198 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 884 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 138, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 146 people, about 12 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 63.99 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 69.64 per cent and women at 57.49 per cent. The census recorded 356 workers, about 30 per cent of the village. Of the 344 main workers, the largest group, 194, were cultivators on their own land, ahead of 81 other workers in trade, transport and services and 57 agricultural labourers. A further 12 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
