Where is Sangrahur?

Sangrahur is a village of Faridkot tehsil in Faridkot district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Guru Har Sahai, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Faridkot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035511, and it covers 499 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,195 people in Sangrahur: 633 men and 562 women, living in 221 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 499 hectares, the population density works out to about 239 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 888 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 161, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 506 people, about 42 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
