Bolewal is a village of Batala tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Sri Hargobindpur, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sri Hargobindpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028600, and it covers 529 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 2,387 people in Bolewal: 1,257 men and 1,130 women, living in 436 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Children up to the age of six numbered 305, about 13 per cent of the village.
