Where is Bhabnaur?

Bhabnaur is a village in Mukerian tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 21 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Talwara community development block and is served by the Bhabnaur ,Abadi Sandhani,Khamta Patti gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031342, and it covers 858 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,627 people in Bhabnaur: 1,297 men and 1,330 women, living in 580 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 858 hectares, the population density works out to about 306 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1025 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 263, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 555 people, about 21 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 90.14 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 93.37 per cent and women at 87.1 per cent.
