Where is Chak Rajusing?

Chak Rajusing is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Chak--Rajusing gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031632, and it covers 181 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,198 people in Chak Rajusing: 612 men and 586 women, living in 226 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 181 hectares, the population density works out to about 662 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 958 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 116, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 654 people, about 55 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 90.02 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 95.17 per cent and women at 84.51 per cent.
