Where is Dudiana Kalan?

Dudiana Kalan is a village in Hoshiarpur tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Dudiana--Kalan gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031451, and it covers 334 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,265 people in Dudiana Kalan: 639 men and 626 women, living in 250 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 334 hectares, the population density works out to about 379 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 980 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 171, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 558 people, about 44 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 82.45 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 87.25 per cent and women at 77.61 per cent.
