Where is Jia Natha?

Jia Natha is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 11 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tanda community development block and is served by the Jia--Natha gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030794, and it covers 68 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 384 people in Jia Natha: 193 men and 191 women, living in 85 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 68 hectares, the population density works out to about 565 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 990 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 39, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 150 people, about 39 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
