Where is Jugial?

Jugial is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 19 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031104, and it covers 417 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,068 people in Jugial: 525 men and 543 women, living in 252 households, an average of about 4.2 people per household. Spread over its 417 hectares, the population density works out to about 256 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1034 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 140, about 13 per cent of the village.
