Where is Kang?

Kang is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030791, and it covers 98 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 312 people in Kang: 161 men and 151 women, living in 66 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 98 hectares, the population density works out to about 318 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 938 women for every 1,000 men.
