Where is Passi Bet?

Passi Bet is a village in Dasua tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and is served by the Passi--Bet gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030776, and it covers 159 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,058 people in Passi Bet: 531 men and 527 women, living in 212 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 159 hectares, the population density works out to about 665 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 992 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 122, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 152 people, about 14 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 83.23 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 88.91 per cent and women at 77.73 per cent.
