Where is Sariana?

Sariana is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and is served by the Sariana ,Khunda, Patti Kanjupeer gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031246, and it covers 642 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,967 people in Sariana: 1,487 men and 1,480 women, living in 608 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 642 hectares, the population density works out to about 462 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 995 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 324, about 11 per cent of the village.
