Where is Waziran?

Waziran is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031191, and it covers 161 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 548 people in Waziran: 261 men and 287 women, living in 115 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 161 hectares, the population density works out to about 340 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1100 women for every 1,000 men.
