Where is Ranwan?

Ranwan is a village of Phillaur tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nurmahal, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nurmahal community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030043, and it covers 101 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 235 people in Ranwan: 124 men and 111 women, living in 54 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 101 hectares, the population density works out to about 233 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 895 women for every 1,000 men.
