Dhabulian is a village of Kapurthala tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kapurthala, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kapurthala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029213, and it covers 482 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 807 people in Dhabulian: 417 men and 390 women, living in 148 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 482 hectares, the population density works out to about 167 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 935 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 69, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 330 people, about 41 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 74.8 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80.63 per cent and women at 68.54 per cent.
