Raman is a village of Sultanpur Lodhi tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Sultanpur Lodhi, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sultanpur Lodhi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029519, and it covers 172 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 315 people in Raman: 162 men and 153 women, living in 56 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 172 hectares, the population density works out to about 183 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 944 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 29, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 71 people, about 23 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
