Sawal is a village of Sultanpur Lodhi tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Sultanpur Lodhi, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sultanpur Lodhi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. The 2011 census counted 819 people in Sawal: 420 men and 399 women, living in 157 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household.
