It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Bagha Purana, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Baghapurana community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 033979, and it covers 1,770 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 4,541 people in Nathuwala Garbi: 2,424 men and 2,117 women, living in 928 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 1,770 hectares, the population density works out to about 257 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 873 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 448, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 2,529 people, about 56 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
