Where is Sukha Nand?

Sukha Nand is a village of Bagha Purana tehsil in Moga district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Bagha Purana, about 24 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Baghapurana community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 033955, and it covers 1,660 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 5,950 people in Sukha Nand: 3,148 men and 2,802 women, living in 1,100 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 1,660 hectares, the population density works out to about 358 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 890 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 636, about 11 per cent of the village.
