Where is Paddian Lahri?

Paddian Lahri is a village in Pathankot tehsil of Pathankot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sujanpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027445, and it covers 104 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 774 people in Paddian Lahri: 410 men and 364 women, living in 157 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 104 hectares, the population density works out to about 744 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 888 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 58, about 7 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 200 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 76.26 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80.42 per cent and women at 71.6 per cent. The census recorded 221 workers, about 29 per cent of the village. A further 121 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
